On Friday, March 20th, the ScoutConnect staff checked in on five teams in a three game look in Missouri. We started our coverage off with a matchup between No. 4 Jackson and Fort Zumwalt North, which the Indians’ won 9-0.
After that, we took in a double-header matchup at CarShield Field in O’Fallon, Missouri, starting with Kirkwood and Pattonville, and ending with Kirkwood and Fort Zumwalt East. The Pioneers took down the Pirates 6-4 in game one before dropping the night cap to the Lions 9-3.
Throughout the day, several prospects showed well to us, and we’ve highlighted them below within these ‘Scout Notes’. Continue reading to learn more about 18 names that stood out to us yesterday.
KIRKWOOD
Jacob Noland, OF, 2026
Jefferson College commit. Physical right-handed bat that holds strength throughout his frame, started in center field and hit out of the three-hole for the Pioneers in both games of this double-header look. Had an excellent offensive performance in a 6-4 win over Pattonville, finishing 3-for-3 with three runs scored. Showed off his easy bat strength and the ability to work backside on the barrel, flicking an off balance line drive into the right-center field gap for a triple. Came up later in the game in a huge moment, barreling a ground-rule double to deep center field to put Kirkwood up by a run in the seventh inning. Strong hands with a long, uphill path through the zone, ball really carries off the barrel, chance to be a middle-of-the-lineup producer at the next level.
Jacob Noland
Nick Mamon, RHP, 2027
Uncommitted. Premium projection in a long, lanky, athletic 6-foot-7, 185-pound frame. Toed the rubber against Pattonville in game one of Kirkwood’s double-header, firing three scoreless innings with one hit, two walks, and a strikeout. Athletic down the mound, controls his long levers well for his age. Tall at balance point, stays closed to his target and works in-line through foot strike. Long arm swing finishes out of a ¾ slot, loose and easy out the hand. Fastball touched 88 in his first inning, pitched at 84-87 mph as he went on in his outing. Held plane some with finish through the bottom of the zone. Showed a shorter slider at 74-76 mph and flashed 80-81 mph changeup to left-handed bats. Unquestionably has one of the higher ceilings in St. Louis for the 2027 class and will be an uncommitted arm to follow closely throughout the rest of the spring, as well as in the summer.
Nick Mamon
Tommy Smith, 1B, 2027
Uncommitted. Highly physical 6-foot-4, 210-pound right-handed bat that started at first base and hit out of the cleanup spot in both games for the Pioneers. Had two hits on the day, both of them doubles, with a RBI in game one. Easy hand and bat strength with a long, level path through the zone with leverage through contact. An impact-type for the Pioneers’ offense that should continue to produce from the middle of this lineup as the spring rolls on.
Andrew Reed, RHP, 2027
Uncommitted. 6-foot-2, 195-pounds, started on the mound for the Pioneers against Fort Zumwalt East in the second game of their double-header. Threw three innings, allowing two earned runs on three hits with two walks, struck out three. Fastball played at 80-83 mph, spun a bigger breaking ball at 67-69 mph off it.
Cayden Jackman, OF, 2028
Uncommitted. Athletic, well-proportioned athlete with lean strength and room to keep adding more. Started in right field and hit out of the leadoff spot in both games for the Pioneers. Had three total hits on the day – singled in game one and scored. Kicked off day two with a bunt single, 4.22 down the line, and doubled later on in that contest. Loose, athletic hands that really work. Fluid left-handed barrel that stays level through the zone, clean finish through contact. Showed arm strength from the outfield in game two, threw a runner out at home on a strike from right in the first inning of game two. A talented, must-know sophomore with notable athleticism and a top-of-the-lineup profile who should be popular come August 1st.
Ryan Caffey, C/2B, 2028
Uncommitted. Hit out of the two-hole in both games for the Pioneers, starting game one behind the plate and playing second base in game two. Took some of the best swings of the entire day in game one. Sprayed a single through the middle of the field in his first at-bat. Went backside off the barrel for a lineout in his next trip up to the plate, turned a pitch around and lined out to center field in his third at-bat. Came up to the plate in the bottom of the sixth and ignited the Pioneers’ rally with a backspun double into the right-center field gap. Short, simple left-handed swing with length through the zone on a level plane. Won’t swing-and-miss much and will be able to cover the whole plate with how his barrel works. Clear polish and advanced hit tool from the left side, is a top sophomore to know in the St. Louis’ area.
Ryan Caffey
Gabe Heaps, OF, 2028
Uncommitted. Lean, athletic frame, strong lower half. Started in left field both games for Kirkwood, hit out of the nine spot in game one and eighth in game two. Was a winner from our Winter Showcase, IL event this past winter, showing advanced tools for his age in that setting and translating it in-game in this look. Impact runner; tracked down a few balls over his left shoulder in the outfield that a majority of outfielders do not get to. Hit a ground ball in game one and gave a 4.28 run time down the line. Fast, athletic hands at the plate with above-average bat speed, uphill path, doesn’t get cheated. Barreled a pitch into the left-center gap in game two against Fort Zumwalt East for a triple. A talented, tooled-up sophomore to follow for the Pioneers.
PATTONVILLE
Cameron Crumble, INF, 2027
Uncommitted. Strong, muscled-up frame with physicality throughout, fills out a uniform and looks the part. Started at shortstop and hit out of the two-hole for the Pirates. Did not record a hit on the day, but showed a strong right-handed swing with a clean, level path through the zone. Drew two walks. Really stood out for his defense at shortstop. Soft hands with clean glove-to-hand, works in rhythm on the move and can maintain it up the middle. Short, quick arm stroke to release, was able to throw accurately from a lower ¾ slot on the move. An uncommitted junior with a chance to stick on the left side of the infield.
Brody Lee, 1B, 2029
Uncommitted. Started at first base and hit ninth for the Pirates as a freshman starting on varsity. Finished 1-for-3 with a single through the middle of the field that drove in a run as part of a four-run fourth inning for Pattonville. Short, simple left-handed swing that stayed on a level plane through the zone. Will hit for more impact as he continues to physically mature and get stronger. Name to follow in Missouri’s 2029 class.
FORT ZUMWALT EAST
Travis Hill, MIF, 2026
Truman State commit. Led off and started at shortstop for the Lions. Had an all-around productive day on the diamond. Finished 1-for-1 with a double to center field. Drew three walks, scored two runs, and stole four bases. Will continue to serve as the spark plug for this Fort Zumwalt East offense and is a do-it-all type for this club.
Dominic Pandolfo, RHP, 2027
Lindenwood commit. Drew the Friday night start for Fort Zumwalt East, allowing an unearned run over four innings of work, scattering two hits with five strikeouts and one walk. Heavy drop/drive type delivery, really gets onto his backside early and rides it down the mound. Finishes with intent through footstrike, works directionally towards target with a slight lean towards first base post release. Long and continuous arm swing finishes from a slightly elevated ¾ slot. Ran his fastball up to 91 in the first inning, pitching at 87-90 mph as he went on. Showed a short, sharp slider at 76-78 mph, tight spin with swing-and-miss upside, proved to be his best pitch in this look. Did show a changeup at 82-83 mph, used sparingly. One of the top junior arms in St. Louis.
Dominic Pandolfo
Kevin Morgan, RHP/CIF, 2027
Uncommitted. Strong in stature with a multi-sport background, averaged 12.1 points per game as the second leading scorer for the Lions’ basketball team this past winter. Hit cleanup and was the DH for the Lions’ in this look against Kirkwood. Went 2-for-4 at the plate with a pair of singles, drove in a run. Didn’t pitch in this look, but did when we saw him earlier in the week, pumping his fastball in the upper-80s, touching 90 mph in the first. Two-way talent that’s still uncommitted.
Kevin Morgan
FORT ZUMWALT NORTH
Beau Flinn, RHP, 2027
Uncommitted. Athletic, well-proportioned frame that holds strength throughout and will continue adding as he continues to mature. Started on ‘Opening Day’ for the Panthers against one of the top teams in the state. Allowed four runs on three hits over four innings, walking three, struck out six. Easy, low-effort stretch only delivery, stacks his backside early and stays on it to footstrike. In-line finish with a still head, repeats. Arm works long on the backside, loose high ¾ finish. Fastball touched 88 early, pitched at 84-87 mph as he went on. Spun two breaking balls; a bigger curveball at 69-72 mph and harder, sharper slider at 74-77 mph. Consistent feel for the latter of the two, strikes and out of zone whiffs.
Beau Flinn
Bradyn Whiteside, 1B, 2027
Uncommitted. Proportionally strong left-handed bat that hit fifth and started at first base for the Panthers. Led the Fort Zumwalt North offense with a pair of hits, both of them singles. Stayed on an upper-80s fastball and punched it through the left side of the infield for a single. Would turn a pitch around for a hard single through the right side later in the game. Strong hands with a short, flat path.
Bradyn Whiteside
NO. 4 JACKSON
Adler Flinn, MIF, 2026
Rend Lake commit. Athletic, proportionally strong frame, started at shortstop and hit out of the two-hole for the Indians. Was plenty productive in this look for Jackson, finished 3-for-4 with a double and two singles. Also drove in two runs and scored once. Short, compact right-handed swing with strength. Doesn’t try to do too much, covers the plate and comfortable using the whole field. One of the top prospects on this Jackson club that’s primed for a productive senior year as a top-of-the-lineup bat.
Adler Flinn
Drew Parsons, RHP, 2026
Southeast Missouri commit. Well-proportioned frame that holds present strength and room to keep adding more; broad shoulders, strong lower half. Premium athlete, has been the starting quarterback for Jackson’s football team, which is one of the top Class 6 teams in Missouri. Threw for 2,688 yards and 27 touchdowns this fall, ran for eight more scores and had only two interceptions. Toed the rubber on Friday against Fort Zumwalt North, striking out four over two scoreless innings, allowing one hit and walked two. Athletic, up-tempo delivery works with pace. Short, tight arm action, high ¾ finish with arm speed. Fastball sat in the upper-80s, touched 90 mph. Continued to show advanced feel for a sharp slider with depth and late spin, 77-79 mph, can land in zone and also create whiffs out of zone. One of the top arms in the state’s senior class that should headline this Jackson staff throughout the spring.
Drew Parsons
Carter Shipman, RHP, 2026
Crowder JC commit. Physical, proportionally strong frame, thick lower half. Worked three scoreless innings of relief, scattering two hits with one walk, struck out three. Clean, efficient mover down the mound. Stays connected to his backside and rotates with intent through footstrike, in-line finish, doesn’t throw with much effort. Short, more compact arm action, ¾ finish. Relied mostly on the fastball, carried it through the zone at 86-89 mph, and paired it with a tight slider at 75-77 mph. Another power-armed upperclassmen of note for this Jackson club.
Cash Rhodes, OF, 2027
Uncommitted. Strong, athletic, well-proportioned frame. Hit sixth and started in left field in the Indians’ win, finished 1-for-2 with a solo home run, scored twice and also drew a walk. Short, simple right-handed swing that showed the ability to elevate the baseball and work more uphill in this look. Quick hands with a simple load that will allow him to adjust the barrel and flatten out to match planes if he needs to.
