On Tuesday, October 6th, our staff hosted our annual Fall Showcase, IL event at the SportsBarn East in Wood River, IL. This event was open to all high school grad classes and featured almost 20 players from the Metro / St. Louis area that participated in a showcase style workout in front of our staff. Participants received traditional showcase style stats, as well as advanced ball flight and pitch capture metrics through our TrackMan.

ScoutConnect events are an excellent opportunity for players to showcase their skills, get an up-to-date look at their metrics, and update their SC Player Profiles as well. Our full database of SC Player Profiles is completely free for all to access, and can be found HERE.
We’re taking some time today to highlight a few of the top performers that stood out to our staff from last week’s event. Continue reading below to learn more about a few names, all of whom are uncommitted, from this year’s Fall Showcase, IL.
+ RHP Thomas Hipp (Lindbergh, 2027) was the last arm to take the mound at this event last week and put together one of the loudest performances we’ve seen from a high school arm this fall. Packed with physicality in a 6-foot-3, 215-pound frame, Hipp didn’t throw a fastball under 90 mph in his ‘pen, peaking at 90.9 mph, per our TrackMan, with more than seven feet of extension on average. His secondaries, while still developing, both flashed – his change up showed dive and depth at times at 81-82 mph, and the raw spin (2400+) on his 75-77 mph slider, as well as the sharpness it flashed, are notable. His physicality, matched with the rawness of his stuff, make Hipp one of the more intriguing uncommitted senior arms in the St. Louis’ area.

+ Another uncommitted senior that our staff came away as big fans of from this event was OF Clayton Gaetti (Centralia, 2027). Gaetti is a strong, muscled-up athlete that ran the day’s fastest 60-yard dash time at 6.68 seconds. He showed a strong left-handed swing in BP with some looseness that was on the barrel in the air with backspin to both gaps at his best. To complete his workout, Gaetti led all outfielders at the event with an 88 mph peak throwing velocity, a number he hit three times with accuracy through his target.

+ Two uncommitted seniors from central Illinois worth highlighting from the event are C/CIF Ethan Hoagland (Porta, 2027) and RHP Lucas Camfield (Mt. Zion, 2027). Hoagland is a stronger, more compact athlete that was on the barrel back through the middle of the field in BP, posting one of the highest average exit velocities (87.45 mph) of the event, with a max number at 92.7 mph. Despite not having overwhelming velocity with his fastball, Camfield did have one of the more intriguing pitch mixes of the event from a data standpoint. He spun two breaking balls at a high rate; a sweeping slider at 75-76 mph (-0 VB, -8 HB) at 2600+ RPM, and a tighter curveball at 74-75 mph (-3 VB, -5 HB) at 2700+ RPM. Additionally, Camfield killed spin (1300) on a 75-76 mph changeup that showed late arm-side depth.
Lucas Camfield
+ A pair of twin brothers that have both improved greatly since we last saw them are INF Tuff Bradley (Granite City, 2027) and INF Timo Bradley (Granite City, 2027). Tuff is a 6.96 runner that was the day’s cleanest infield defender, staying in rhythm throughout his defensive workout with soft hands and fluid feet. His right-handed swing is stronger, looser, and cleaner than we’ve seen in the past, barreling line drives to the pull-side at times throughout BP. Timo is a more compact, sturdier athlete with strong hands that wore out the middle/backside part of the field with line drives off the barrel in BP. He also showed steady, sure-handed actions on the infield in his defensive eval.
Timo Bradley
+ RHP Noah Chleboun (Father McGivney, 2028) is a physical right-handed arm that threw a 82-83 mph fastball with carry traits (16 VB, 6 HB) for strikes in his ‘pen. He also spun two different breaking balls off it for strikes, both in the low-70s; a bigger curveball (-1 VB, -8 HB) and a shorter, tighter slider.

+ Two infielders in the Illinois’ junior class that showed well were INF Reed Robinson (Waltonville, 2028) and INF Paddy Martin (Father McGivney, 2028). Robinson’s always performed for us in our in-game looks as a scrappy, competitive right-handed bat that doesn’t try to do too much at the plate. That’s what he showed as well in this look, peppering line drives back up the middle from a simple, controlled, and low-effort right-handed swing. Martin improved in all areas of his workout; he cut his 60-yard dash time by 2/10ths of a second, increased his infield velocity by 11 mph (84 mph), jumped his max exit velocity by five mph (89.7 mph), and hit his furthest ball 10 more feet than before.
Reed Robinson
+ A sophomore from last week’s event that showed well on both sides of the ball was RHP/CIF Brady Hueter (Triad, 2029). Physical for his age with present strength and room for more, Hueter lifted the baseball from a long, uphill right-handed swing, averaging 86.26 mph per batted ball, peaking at 92.3 mph. The most impressive part of Hueter’s workout was his bullpen, where he used his long-levered frame to get downhill with a fastball at 82-83 mph. Hueter threw two breaking balls, a curveball and slider, for strikes, and his changeup also showed late arm-side action at 73-74 mph.
Brady Hueter
+ OF/LHP Carter Tipton (Seckman, 2029) is a left-handed hitting sophomore from Missouri that hit at a high level throughout our events all summer long and looked the part in his showcase debut. Tipton had the highest average exit velocity of the event (88.75 mph) and also had one of the day’s top max exit velocities (91.2 mph), while leveraging the baseball at his peak to the middle/pull side of the field. His fastball played in the low-80s on the mound and he was able to consistently land a low-70s breaking ball for strikes.
Carter Tipton
+ C Ryan Philippe (Metro East Lutheran, 2029) was ready to hit from the jump in BP, barreling line drives gap-to-gap from an on top, direct right-handed swing that’ll add more impact potential as he gets stronger. Philippe also had one of the day’s cleaner catch-and-throw rounds of the day behind the plate, staying on the bag throughout his defensive workout.
