With the IHSA season underway, the ScoutConnect scouting staff will be out and about in full force throughout the spring, providing quality coverage to high school athletes on a game-to-game basis. Aside from the social media aspect of our scouting, we’ll release our ‘Scout Notes’ the day after each game, which will provide a more detailed analysis of some players that stood out to our staff on that given day.
Continue reading below to learn more about a few names that stood out to our staff in a cross-state matchup between No. 3 O’Fallon and No. 5 CBC (MO), where the Panthers won in walk-off fashion 1-0.
O’FALLON PANTHERS
Connor Blue, RHP, 2025, Cincinnati commit
Strong, well-proportioned frame that holds strength throughout. Took the ball for the Panthers yesterday and dominated, limiting a talented Cadets’ offense to two hits over six innings of work with one walk and 10 strikeouts. Simple, stretch-only delivery, lands slightly closed off from the plate and repeats. Arm plays long and loose on the backside with a continuous path, finishing out of a clean high ¾ window. Fastball touched 91 in the first, held 88-90 mph as he went on throughout. Carries out the hand with late life, challenged in the zone often. Spun his breaking ball at 72-75 mph, landed it for strikes with sharp, slurvy spin at times. Turned over a fading changeup at 81-83 mph as well, used it sparingly. Also tacked on two hits out of the three-hole for the Panthers. One of the area’s top arms continues to do his thing each time he takes the mound.
Dane Hrasky, SS, 2025, Central Missouri commit
Wiry, athletic frame with lean strength and room to continue adding more. Leads off for the Panthers and starts at shortstop. Did not record a hit in this look but was on the barrel to center field for a loud lineout in his second at-bat, also drew a walk. Continues to impress defensively at shortstop. Quick first step with athletic feet that play fluid and in control on the move, slows the game down. Loose, quick arm, has an internal clock and knows when he has to get rid of the baseball, but doesn’t let the game speed him up. A do-it-all type of contributor that’s been a huge part of O’Fallon’s team in each of the past two seasons.
Carson Bauer, MIF, 2026, Uncommitted
Lean, high-waisted frame with upside levers that is far from a finished product physically. Hits second for O’Fallon and serves as their everyday second baseman. Singled the other way in his first at-bat, worked that way later in the game as well for an out. Short, direct left-handed swing that controls the barrel, finds it often and will hit for impact as he continues to add strength. Has a noticeable approach at the plate; does not expand out of what he’s trying to do, minimal swing-and-miss in the zone. Clean, athletic actions on the infield, soft hands that work out front and funnel inward to release. Fluid on the move, controls his body well and stays balanced on run through plays – had an impressive one early in this game, where he charged a ball, kept his momentum, and threw a runner out at first base on the run. A high-academic, uncommitted junior that does a lot of the little things right and is only going to continue to get better as he tacks on mass.
Anthony Perez, LHP, 2026, Uncommitted
Athletic, well-proportioned frame with plenty of physical projection to come. Came out of the ‘pen for the Panthers in the top half of the seventh for his first outing of the spring and impressed, punching out a pair of batters and getting a weak rolled over groundout to second base. Works exclusively out of the stretch with quick tempo and rhythm, throws with controlled intent through footstrike, finishing towards the third base side. Clean, continuous arm circle that finishes from a slightly elevated ¾ slot with arm speed out front. Fastball touched 86 on his last pitch of the inning, sat 84-85 mph, with some action to the arm-side. Showed a slider at 76-78 mph that flashed tight, sweeping action and got a swing-and-miss for a punchout to a right-handed hitter.
Asher Cantu, C, 2026, Uncommitted
Highly physical 6-foot-4, 215-pound left-handed hitting catcher that stood out for his efforts behind the plate in this look. Has improved as a receiver, quieting his hands and presenting the baseball with less added movement than before. More than willing blocker, threw his body at several breaking balls in the dirt as this game went on and chested them up to keep it in front of him. Did not record a hit in this look but continues to make improvements at the plate, especially from an approach and competitive at-bat standpoint. Does not make for an easy out at the plate, worked a deep count in his first at-bat where he fouled off several pitches and did so in a previous look this spring as well. An on-the-rise, physical left-handed hitting junior that’s still uncommitted.
Cole Becker, CIF, 2026, Uncommitted
Strong, muscled-up right-handed hitter that started at first base and hit out of the seven hole for the Panthers. Found a barrel for his only hit of the game in his first at-bat, pushing a single past the right side of the infield. Strong hands with a flat, direct path to contact, has impressed our staff this spring with his all-around aptitude at the plate.
Brayden Robertson, OF, 2026, Uncommitted
Lean, athletic right-handed hitter that hits ninth and plays center field for O’Fallon. Has been trending up some over the past few months after a strong look at the ScoutConnect Winter Showcase this past February, following that up with another quality showing when we saw O’Fallon earlier this spring. Was the hero in yesterday’s win, delivering a walk-off home run to right field with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to extend the Panthers’ winning streak to eight straight games.
CBC CADETS
Brady Rallo, 1B/LHP, 2028, Uncommitted
Athletic, well-proportioned left/left athlete that holds present lean strength and plenty room for more. Hit fifth and started at first base for the Cadets, took the mound later on out of the ‘pen as well. Plenty mature for his age at the plate, was not overmatched against a quality, power arm in any of his at-bats. Fast left-handed swing that blends feel to hit and jump off the barrel, squared one up for a single in his second at-bat of the day against an upper-80s fastball. Looks every bit the part of a premium left-handed hitter in Missouri’s 2028 class. Jumped on the mound later in the game and struck out three with one walk over 1 ⅔ innings in relief. Athletic delivery with a loose, clean arm, ran his fastball up to 83, pitching at 80-82 mph, and spinning an upper-60s breaking ball off it. One of the top 2028 graduates in Missouri that is a must-follow name.
