With the IHSA season underway, the ScoutConnect scouting staff will be out and about in full force throughout the spring, providing quality coverage to high school athletes on a game-to-game basis. Aside from the social media aspect of our scouting, we’ll release our ‘Scout Notes’ the day after each game, which will provide a more detailed analysis of some players that stood out to our staff on that given day.
Continue reading below to learn more about a few names that stood out to our staff in a matchup between No. 3 O’Fallon and No. 4 Mascoutah, where the Panthers won 14-1.
NO. 3 O’FALLON PANTHERS
Dane Hrasky, SS, 2025, Central Missouri commit
Wiry, athletic frame with lean strength and room to continue adding more. Sets the table at the top of this Panthers’ lineup and starts at shortstop. Singled twice in this look, driving in three runs, with two runs scored and two stolen bases. Short, level path, draws back and works direct to contact out of load with above-average hand speed. Easy, fluid footspeed, gets to peak speed quickly and really looks the part running around the bases. Continues to show advanced all-around defensive actions, particularly on the move. Charged a short hop ground ball on a grass surface that tends to deaden the baseball, stayed fluid and balanced on the run through, and delivered an accurate throw to first base. Worked to his backhand later in the game, planted his back foot, and threw a runner out as well. An all-around impact contributor for this Panthers team.
Connor Blue, RHP/1B, 2025, Cincinnati commit
Strong, well-proportioned frame that holds strength throughout. Known for his efforts on the mound, but showed well with the bat in this look, plating three runs on two hits. Hammered a double deep to right-center field, followed that up with a two-run single through the left side of the infield in his next at-bat. Strong hands, simple and controlled load, works short and slightly uphill to contact with easy carry off the barrel.
Camden Cox, OF/INF, 2025, Lincoln Land CC commit
Strong, compact, muscled-up frame, started at third base and hit cleanup for O’Fallon. Was on the barrel three times in this look, all of them hits, including a triple to center field. Handsy, short to contact with a flat path through the zone. Ball carries some off the barrel, has always been a high contact, cover the plate type of hitter. Made an impressive play at third base, ranging to his glove side, spinning around, setting his feet, and throwing a runner out at first.
Tyson Filyaw, RHP, 2026, Uncommitted
Large, physical 6-foot-3, 195-pound frame. Drew the start for O’Fallon and quieted the Mascoutah offense, allowing one run on four hits over five innings of work, striking out five and walking two. Stretch-only delivery, quick worker that throws with high-intent through footstrike. Short, tight arm spiral on the backside, finishes out of a high ¾ window. Fastball sat 84-86 mph as he went on, showed hard run at times that buried into right-handed hitters. Spun a 75-77 mph slider off that, backed up on him at times but had tight spin with a short wrinkle when right. An uncommitted junior arm with power potential to follow for the Panthers.
Carson Bauer, INF, 2026, Uncommitted
Lean, high-waisted frame with upside levers that is far from a finished product physically. Hits second for O’Fallon and serves as their everyday second baseman. Continues to perform, picking up three hits in this look, all of them singles. Flipped a pitch to right field for his first hit, went the other way in his next at-bat, and followed that up with a hard line drive up the middle for his third hit of the day. Short, direct left-handed swing that controls the barrel, finds it often and will hit for impact as he continues to add strength.
Braydon Robertson, OF, 2026, Uncommitted
Lean, athletic right-handed hitter that hits ninth and plays center field for O’Fallon. Was the hero for the Panthers in a win over CBC earlier in the week, launching a walk-off home run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh over the right field wall. Picked up right where he left off on that day, driving in four runs on two hits, including a two-run double deep to left-center that put O’Fallon on the board in the top half of the second. Followed that up with a two-run single to left field in his next trip to the plate. Works in rhythm with loose hands, has some length to contact with an uphill barrel to contact, looks to elevate. Athletic in center field, quick first step and covers ground to both sides. Ranged deep into the right-center gap to track down a deep flyout in this look. Arm plays true with carry out the hand, has consistently shown that in showcase setting as well as pregame I/O.
Asher Cantu, C, 2026, Uncommitted
Highly physical 6-foot-4, 215-pound left-handed hitting catcher, hits fifth. Had two hits with an RBI in this look, including a hard single up the middle his second trip to the plate. Long, uphill path through the zone, has considerably improved his ability to make in-zone contact and puts together competitive at-bats. Keeps improving defensively; threw a bullet down to second base early on to throw out a runner, consistent worker behind the plate from a blocking perspective.
NO. 4 MASCOUTAH INDIANS
Josh Amann, 1B, 2025, Uncommitted
Physical left-handed hitter that started at first base and hit cleanup for the Indians. Drove in the only run of the game for Mascoutah, hammering a loud double deep to center field that missed a home run by a few feet. Easy hand and bat strength, doesn’t try to do too much and stays level through the hitting zone. Has been a stable offensive producer for Mascoutah in the middle of this lineup all spring.
