With the IHSA season underway, the ScoutConnect scouting staff will be out and about in full force throughout the spring, providing quality coverage to high school athletes on a game-to-game basis. Aside from the social media aspect of our scouting, we’ll release our ‘Scout Notes’ the day after each game, which will provide a more detailed analysis of some players that stood out to our staff on that given day.
Continue reading below to learn more about a few names that stood out to our staff in a matchup at the Tigers’ Classic between Teutopolis and Glenwood, where the Wooden Shoes won 2-1.
TEUTOPOLIS WOODEN SHOES
Dawson Hoene, SS, 2025, Uncommitted
Lean, athletic frame, started at shortstop and led off the Wooden Shoes. Stood out in this look for his efforts defensively, was all over the place and made several impressive plays. Dove up the middle, to his glove side, on a ground ball in the second inning, stopped it, and flipped it to the second baseman for a force out. Started a 6-4-3 double play in the top of the third inning, would do so again in the top half of the fourth. Had two other 6-3 putouts in the game. Went 1-for-2 with two runs scored, lone hit was an infield single to the left side of the infield that he legged out. An uncommitted senior that looked the part of a next-level defender on the infield.
Davin Worman, OF/LHP, 2026, Uncommitted
Strong, well-proportioned frame that’s tacked on notable strength since our last look. Started in center field and hit out of the two-hole for the Wooden Shoes. Finished 3-for-3 with three hits, all of them to the pull-side. Sneaked a single through the right side of the infield in his first trip to the plate. Followed that up with another single down the right field line in the following at-bat, would finish the game by backspinning a deep triple to right-center field in his last at-bat. Quiet and simple load, long barrel through the hitting zone on a slightly uphill path.
Gavin Addis, RHP, 2026, Uncommitted
Athletic frame with long levers and all sorts of upside, multi-sport (basketball) background. Was excellent on the mound for Teutopolis in a 2-1 win, allowed a run on six hits over seven innings of work, walking two with a pair of punchouts, 68% strikes. Easy, low-effort and up-tempo delivery, works across his body out of the windup, more directional from the stretch. Long arm swing, finishes out of a loose high ¾ slot. Fastball played straight at 80-83 mph, worked east-to-west with it, easy to project a notable uptick in velocity as he continues to add strength. Landed a slurvy-type breaking ball for strikes at 68-71 mph, also easy to project it taking a jump in velocity/action as he continues to fill out his frame. An upside, uncommitted junior arm to follow for T-Town.
Jason Kreke, C, 2026, Uncommitted
Strong, sturdy frame with physicality throughout. Started behind the plate and hit fourth for the Wooden Shoes. Worked to the pull-side twice – a lineout to third base and a single through the left side of the infield. Tall start with a controlled backward load, works off his front side at times with a long path to contact. Controls the game from behind the plate, above-average arm strength that cut down the would-be typing run at second base to end the game.
GLENWOOD TITANS
Dylan Huff, RHP/OF, 2026, Uncommitted
Lean, wiry athlete with lanky levers capable of continuing to add mass as he continues to mature physically, all-conference football player. Has been a staple for this club at the plate this spring, also known for his efforts on the mound as one of the area’s top uncommitted arms. Had two hits in this look – barreled a line drive single to left field in his first at-bat, squeaked a single back up the middle of the field later in the game as well. Fast, athletic right-handed swing with a level path, covers the plate and consistently makes contact. Also an upper-80s arm on the mound that will flash feel to spin a sharp mid-to-upper-70s breaking ball.
