We’re back with another update to our Missouri high school baseball rankings following another week of the MSHSAA season.
For a look at our rankings a week ago, click HERE.
It’s important to note that these rankings do not cover the entire state. Our coverage map from a rankings standpoint, in Missouri, includes mostly the city of St. Louis, extending downward to Jackson, Missouri. That doesn’t mean we’re not covering other areas of the state, but from a consistency standpoint, we will only rank teams that fall inside our coverage area. It’s also important to note that these are just initial rankings, and they will fluctuate throughout as the season rolls on and game play starts.
There’s some relative movement throughout our board, especially at the top, and trickling down throughout, with a new team debuting. For more details and information on our top-15, continue reading below.
THE TOP FIVE…
+ Jackson (16-3) holds on to their No. 1 spot for a third straight rankings update despite a 3-2 week. The Indians beat Cape Central (4-3) to start things off before heading to the Columbia Tournament, where they went 2-2. They beat Eureka (8-4) and Rock Bridge (14-2), but lost to Nixa (14-5) and Hickman (7-6).
+ It’s the second rankings update in a row where Francis Howell (14-6) is climbing up our board after a brief drop. The Vikings, now at No. 2, went 5-2 this week, including an appearance in the Columbia Tournament championship game. They started things off by sweeping their GAC series with Troy Buchanan (2-1, 4-3), following that up with wins over Hickman (11-4), Blair Oaks (10-7), and Nixa (12-2). Both of their losses came to Kansas City’ powerhouse Staley (4-3, 3-1), the latter of those two in the tournament’s championship game.
+ SLUH (14-4) drops down one spot to No. 3 after a 2-2 week. The Jr. Billikens lost both of their games to conference foe DeSmet (6-0, 11-2), beating Belleville West (5-3) in between and finishing the week off with a 15-0 victory over cross-town foe Webster Groves.
+ Eureka (16-5) is staying put at No. 4 in this update. The Wildcats won five of their seven games, sweeping Parkway West (11-1, 1-0) in conference, beating Platte County (8-0, 6-3) twice at the Columbia Tournament, and also taking down Battle (16-0). Their two losses came to No. 1 Jackson (8-4) and Smith Cotton (4-3).
+ Rounding out our top five is Vianney (17-4), who is at their highest point on our board since the preseason. The Griffins went 4-2 on the week, splitting a conference series with CBC (5-4 L, 9-1 W), with wins over Father Tolton (7-0), Republic (11-3), and Marshfield (5-3). Vianney also lost a mid-week matchup against Duchesne, falling to the Pioneers 4-3. They will play two massive conference games against No. 3 SLUH this week.
ON THE RISE…
+ Marquette (13-3) has done nothing but continue to climb since debuting on our board a few weeks back, reaching their highest point of the season to date, now at No. 6. The Mustangs went 2-1 this week, splitting their conference set with a tough Lindbergh squad (6-2 W, 8-3 L), and also taking down Metro East Lutheran (IL) 12-0. Marquette’s resume this season is impressive, as is their offense, and this team looks like a real threat to make some noise when District play rolls around.
+ Rockwood Summit (11-6) is another notable riser in this update, as the Falcons crack the top 10 for the first time this season. Slotted at No. 8, Summit is coming off a 2-1 week, where they swept ranked Lafayette (12-4, 7-4) in conference, dropping a 6-5 game to Chaminade afterwards.
STAYING PUT…
Four teams towards the bottom of our board are all staying put in their spots from last week’s update:
+ No. 11 Seckman (13-5): Winners of seven straight, the Jaguars enter a crucial week of their season playing the best baseball they’ve played all year. They hold onto the No. 11 spot this week, but have an opportunity to vault up our board if they have a strong showing this week, as they’ll play No. 10 Oakville, No. 13 Festus, and a tough Kirkwood club.
+ No. 12 St. Dominic (13-7): After a tough week dropped them multiple spots down our rankings, the Crusaders bounced back and won all four games they played this past week. They took down No. 14 Francis Howell Central 8-0 to start things off on Monday, while also defeating Lutheran (10-0), St. Francis Borgia (7-3), and Ladue (12-2).
+ No. 13 Festus (12-4): It was a 5-1 week for the Tigers, dropping the last game they played to Farmington (5-0), but rattling off wins over Windsor (3-2, 14-1), North County (5-2), Fox (7-0), and Hazelwood West (24-3) before that.
+ No. 14 Francis Howell Central (12-6): After falling to St. Dominic to open their week, the Spartans swept their GAC matchup over Francis Howell North (8-3, 5-4) and also beat Fort Zumwalt South 9-0.
FALLING DOWN…
+ Fort Zumwalt West (14-8-1) bumps down our board for the second straight week, now sitting at No. 7. The Jaguars went 4-3 on the week, beating North Point (8-0) and sweeping Liberty-Wentzville (2-0, 8-7) before heading to the Columbia Tournament. There, Fort Zumwalt West went 1-3, with their only win coming over Battle (13-5) in the opener. They dropped their next three games from there, losing to Grain Valley (3-2), Willard (4-2), and Smith-Cotton (7-4).
+ Lafayette (13-7) and Oakville (11-5) are both also falling, slotted right next to each other, at No. 9 and No. 10, respectively. The Lancers beat the Tigers 16-2 to start the week off, but were swept by Rockwood Summit (12-4, 7-4) to end their week. Oakville bounced back from their opening week loss to Lafayette, taking down Parkway South (4-3) and Ladue (7-6).
+ Fort Zumwalt East (12-4) falls out of the rankings after a 3-1 week. The Lions split their conference series with Washington (9-7 L, 4-2 W), but beat both Grandview (15-0) and Truman (8-1).
WELCOME…
+ Winners of 11 straight, Duchesne (15-3) jumps into our rankings for the first time this spring, occupying the No. 15 and final spot on our board. The two biggest reasons why the Pioneers are debuting this week is their 4-3 win over No. 5 Vianney on Wednesday and the full return of RHP TJ Griese (2026; East Central CC) on the mound.
JUST MISSED…
+ Lindbergh (9-8): Ignore the Flyers’ record when you’re evaluating this team. They’ve played a tough schedule and are a relatively young group that’s slowly starting to find its stride. Lindbergh was the first team out of our rankings after a 3-1 week, in which they beat Kirkwood (10-8) and Webster Groves (15-0), while also splitting a series with Marquette (8-3 W, 6-2 L).
